Dear Fellow Musicians,

Please consider this a personal invitation to become a member of the Placentia Symphonic Band. 

The Placentia Symphonic Band is approaching the end its sixth year of concerts for the people of Southern California. Since its debut in 2001, the PSB has performed over one hundred twenty different selections of music in thirty-one performances and special concerts. On Memorial Day of 2005, the PSB performed to a standing room only audience of over 500 in the White House East Room at the Richard M. Nixon Library & Birthplace.  This was the largest audience to attend an event at the RMNL&B since the funeral services for President Nixon.  The PSB has made twelve appearances at what is now officially the Richard M. Nixon Presidential Library.  

The members of the PSB include musicians who were in the bands at Arizona State University, Azusa Pacific University, Berklee College of Music, Biola University, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, CSU Fullerton, CSU Long Beach, Cerritos College, Chaffey College, Cypress College, Drake University, El Camino College, Fullerton College, Golden West College, Grand View College, Irvine Valley College, John Brown University, Long Beach City College, Los Angeles Valley College, Louisiana State University, Michigan State University, Mt. San Antonio College, Ohio State University, Orange Coast College, Pasadena College, Pepperdine University, Riverside City College, San Diego State University, San Jose State University, Santa Ana College, Southern Oregon University, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UC Los Angeles, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, University of Arizona, University of Hawaii, University of Houston, University of Illinois, University of Iowa, University of Kentucky, University of Massachusetts Lowell, University of Michigan, University of North Texas, University of Redlands, University of Southern California and Western State College. Many current and former university, college, high school, middle school, and elementary music teachers play in the PSB as well as veterans of the US Army, US Marine Corps, US Navy and US Air Force Bands.

The PSB rehearses every Thursday from 7:00 to 9:30 PM in the Valencia High School Band Room. Take the 57 Freeway to Fullerton. Exit at Chapman Avenue and head east away from CSUF. At the top of the hill is Bradford Avenue. Turn left on Bradford. Turn right into the very first gate at VHS. Follow the road for about 100 yards to the music building.

The PSB is an independent non-profit organization supported by donations from individuals, businesses, organizations and corporations.  Contributions are tax deductible.

Consider attending a rehearsal and returning to where it began for all of us; playing one's horn. Give us a try!
